How do I make an HBP withdrawal from my RRSP+

You will need to contact Saving Services to begin the withdrawal process. An agent will walk you through the forms and documents you will need to make your first home purchase a reality!

First of all, are you eligible for the HBP?

The current HBP eligibility requirements can be difficult to make sense of. Our team can inform you of the main conditions of the Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) and refer you to the Canada Revenue Agency if your situation is more complex.

Documents and forms

During your call with Saving Services, the agent will tell you what documents and forms you need to complete your withdrawal request. Keep in mind: in most cases, we can only start processing a request after all of the supporting documents have been sent to us. Read through our FAQ on the documents you need to provide for an HBP withdrawal to avoid unpleasant surprises and speed up the processing of your request. If your file is incomplete, a Saving Services agent will contact you by phone or email to follow up on your request.

How long will it take?

Officially, the Fund's short-form prospectus states that share redemption requests must be processed within 30 days. That said, we know that every day counts in a real estate transaction. Therefore, the average turnaround time for this type of request is about 10 working days.

Other relevant information

  • There are three ways to send us your documents and completed forms: using the Upload documents feature in your online account, by email (info@fondsftq.com), or by mail.
  • The Fonds form must be printed out, completed by hand, signed, and scanned. Thus, a printer is required for this step.
  • The other documents can be scanned or photographed, using your smartphone for example. The information on them must be clearly legible for our team.
