Fonds locaux de solidarité FTQ
Back in 1991, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ and the Fédération québécoise des municipalités conceived the network of Fonds locaux de solidarité FTQ. Over the years, a network of 98 Fonds locaux was developed, thanks to elected municipal officials and local partners. It supports the local economy through the development of SMEs and the creation and maintenance of sustainable, quality jobs.
Businesses can obtain financing from the Fonds locaux through the dedicated and versatile specialists that support local economic development, either in the Regional County Municipality (RCM) — or their equivalent — or in any organization designated by them.
Thanks to the Fonds locaux, the regions have a tremendous development tool at their disposable, with over $115 million in funding available for their SMEs:
- $29 million invested by local partners
- $86 million from the Fonds de solidarité FTQ to support local economies.[1]
