The Fonds de solidarité FTQ and the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ - Québec support LOGISCO's growth
Lévis, July 15 2025
Real estate developer LOGISCO is accelerating its growth with the signing of a major partnership agreement with the Fonds de solidarité FTQ and the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ – Québec for the construction of several hotels, mainly in the Greater Québec City Area.
"I would like to thank our partner for their confidence in our organization. In addition to enabling us to accelerate the development of our hotel subsidiary, the sustainable development expertise of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ network will facilitate innovation within our hotels so that they can remain appealing and competitive in the long run," said LOGISCO President Michel Parent.
"By investing in LOGISCO, we are supporting a growth- and innovation-driven company. With this partnership, we are helping to revitalize the hotel industry in the Québec City area while responding to the needs of a rapidly changing market," said Saloua Benkhouya, Vice-President, Private Equity and Impact Investing, Entertainment and Service Industries, at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ. LOGISCO built and operates three Hilton hotels in the Greater Québec City Area: Home2 Suites on Hamel Boulevard near the airport and the two Hampton Inn & Suites hotels in Lévis (Saint-Romuald) and Québec City (Beauport). Under the partnership, finalized in early May, the Fonds acquired a minority stake in the company that owns these three establishments.
Investments in excess of $60 million
LOGISCO and the Fonds de solidarité FTQ are also laying the groundwork for a $60-million collaboration that will see the construction of several other hotels. Plans are already underway for two hotels, which once completed will add 300 rooms in the Greater Québec City Area.
This is LOGISCO's first institutional investment partner, marking an important milestone in the history of the family business, founded in Lévis in 1967. In addition to accelerating its development in the hotel sector, LOGISCO is maintaining its growth target of doubling the number of residential units brought to market each year.
Diversifying tourist accommodation options
"We are excited at the prospect of creating jobs in the hotel industry, as well as increasing and diversifying tourist accommodation options in the Québec City market, where the hotel rooms are showing their age. Demand is there, and there is still room for new establishments," said Maggie Labrecque, Senior Hospitality Director at LOGISCO.
"The hotel industry is important for the Greater Québec City Area and its image. As the regional presence of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, the Fonds régionaux are proud to support LOGISCO, a well-established actor in the community. This new partnership illustrates our commitment to ensuring the sustainability of local businesses and stimulating the local economy," said Frédéric Bernard, Regional Vice-President of the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ – Québec City.
