How do I know if my employer offers payroll deductions?

To learn if your employer offers this feature, the simplest way is to check with your company's payroll service.

Thousands of companies offer the RRSP+ via payroll deductions across Quebec. If your employer offers RRSP+ through payroll deductions, you can sign up and start contributing directly online. The request will then be processed in two to six weeks.

To take advantage of payroll deductions, you employer must first offer this contribution method. If they do not, speak with them to see about setting it up.

You can contact your payroll department to find out if your employer is signed up for the RRSP+ through payroll deductions.

However, some employers may refuse to offer the RRSP+ via payroll deductions. In this event, the contribution by automatic bank withdrawals is your best alternative.

Notes

It is also important to note that the Fonds de solidarité FTQ may stop issuing shares during the financial year. As a result, investors will only be able to subscribe to shares through certain contribution methods. In such a case, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ will issue a press release explaining the terms of the share issue cap.
