ProteKt Therapeutics Raises $ US 3.6 Million in Post-incubation Financing

ProteKt Therapeutics, a biotech company developing new PKR kinase inhibitor based therapies for neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s Disease, today announced the signing of a binding agreement for a $ US 3.6 million equity financing round. The financing was co-led by Fonds de solidarité FTQ and Bukwang Pharmaceutical, together with existing investors FutuRx, OrbiMed, Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JJDC, Inc., Takeda Ventures, Inc. and RM Global Partners (RMGP) BioPharma Investment Fund. Proceeds from the financing will be used primarily to select a lead drug candidate molecule and validate its neurotherapeutic effects in vivo. In addition, the company plans to initiate the clinical development of a related diagnostic assay for patient selection and treatment personalization.

Stradigi AI closes $53 million Series A financing led by Fonds de solidarité FTQ and Investissement Québec

Stradigi AI, a Montreal-based leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI), today announced that it has closed a $53 million Series A funding round that will accelerate penetration of the North American market and support continuous product innovation of their AI platform, Kepler. The Fonds de solidarité FTQ (the Fonds) and Investissement Québec (IQ) led the fundraising, collectively investing $26,4 million.

Fonds de solidarité FTQ Posts 12-Month Return of 5.8%

In the first six months of its 2017-2018 financial year, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ posted comprehensive income (profit) of $314 million for the benefit of its 667,000 savers. Share value is now $41.61, for a shareholder return of 2.2% for the six-month period ended November 30, 2018, and a 12-month return of 5.8%. Net assets grew to $14.8 billion.

Created in 1983, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ is a development capital fund that calls upon the solidarity and savings of Quebecers to help fulfill its mission to contribute to Québec's economic growth by creating and protecting jobs through investments primarily in small and medium-sized businesses in all spheres of activity.
