Fonds de solidarité FTQ Network Invests $11 Million to Support the Growth of Groupe Blais Synergie
The Fonds network takes a minority stake in the Rouyn-Noranda companyfounded in 1952

The Fonds de solidarité FTQ and the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ Abitibi-Témiscamingue are investing $11 million in Groupe Blais Synergie, thus becoming a minority shareholder and the first outside investor in the company. Groupe Blais Synergie employs around 700 people and specializes in the construction of industrial infrastructure for the mining and biomass energy sectors.
"The Blais family and Groupe Blais Synergie have an established reputation in the mining industry, where their expertise has been recognized for many years. We are pleased to add the company to the Fonds de solidarité FTQ portfolio," said Julie Morand, Vice-President, Private Equity and Impact Investments – Industries and Mining, at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ.

Headed by Jacques Blais, Groupe Blais Synergie comprises a number of companies, including Les industries Blais, which operates in the industrial construction sector with a focus on energy-efficient management. The company recently acquired a stake in Ontario-based KMW Energy Group.
