I plan to retire in five years. Can I start contributing to the Fonds?

While it's a good idea to start saving early, you can open an RRSP+ account at any time up to December 31 of your 71st year.

Note that, from the year you turn 65, or if you've redeemed or plan to redeem your shares for retirement during the current year, you won’t be able to claim the labour-sponsored funds tax credits. However, nothing prevents you from starting to contribute to your RRSP+ anyway.
