Québec’s printing industry is made up of sheet, offset, flexography, screen and digital printing companies and various specialized services such as pre-press and binding.

The province is an important, well established player in this industry, which apart from a few giants, is segmented into many niche markets served by SMEs.

INDUSTRY CHALLENGES

In order to ensure its long-term growth and to maintain its advantageous market position, the printing industry will have to address the following challenges:

  • Changing technology that will require them to upgrade to computerized equipment in order to digitize all the steps of the production chain, from design to printing;
  • Industry consolidation as printing gives way to electronic media.
