Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ reinvest in Globe Metal
Sainte-Catherine, August 31, 2026
The Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ have announced a new investment in Globe Metal, a family-owned company specializing in industrial metal recycling. The reinvestment will support the company's continued growth and marks the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ's third investment in the Montérégie-based business since 2018.
Founded in 1980 by Jeff Solomon, who remains its president and owner, Globe Metal has built a strong reputation in Québec and established itself as a recognized leader in its sector. The company operates in a favourable market environment, driven in part by sustained demand for certain metals. The company's sustained growth in recent years has fuelled higher revenues, creating a greater need for working capital. In a market where metal prices can fluctuate rapidly, the ability to secure supply and lock in prices when orders are placed is critical to maintaining that momentum.

This renewed investment will enable Globe Metal to expand its range of metals and alloys, strengthen its position in its core Canadian and U.S. markets, and further extend its international reach. It also reflects the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ's commitment to supporting well-positioned Québec businesses with strong long-term potential.
"The renewed support of the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ is instrumental to our success. It will enable us to meet our customers' needs while advancing our development projects," said Jeff Solomon, President and founder of Globe Metal.
"We are proud to renew our commitment to Globe Metal, a family-owned business with deep roots in the Montérégie community. By investing in its future, we are also contributing to the strength of the region's economy," said Johanne Pilon, Regional Vice-President, Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ—Montérégie.
