Can I withdraw my money from the secure investment option before maturity?

Only annual mandatory minimum withdrawals from a RRIF and withdrawals following a death are permitted.

To get the most out of your FlexiFonds secure investment, funds must remain in the investment until maturity.

Withdrawals before maturity are not permitted, except in certain situations specified in the prospectus, including:

  • Annual mandatory minimum withdrawals from a RRIF
  • Withdrawals made following a death

For a complete list of applicable terms and conditions, please consult the prospectus.

Will I lose my returns if I make a withdrawal from my RRIF?

You won’t lose the minimum guaranteed return that’s already accumulated, but you will lose access to the the additional return on the portion you withdraw.

Only the amounts held in the investment until maturity are eligible for the potential extra returns. This means that you will not be able to receive additional returns on amounts withdrawn from a RRIF.
