      Alain Denis joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2009 as Investment Director of the Information Technologies and Telecommunications sector. An entrepreneur and manager with over 20 years of experience in business and investment, Mr. Denis has held various management positions in leading companies, playing a significant role in their development. Over his career, Alain Denis was, among other things, involved in the launch of a national wireless telecom firm and helped secure financing for and further the development of various companies funded through venture capital in Europe and Asia. More recently, he participated in developing the business of two companies he co-founded, one in health technologies and the other in asset-based lending. A graduate of Université Laval and York University, Mr. Denis holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance concentration. Very involved in the business community, he is a board member of several companies and organizations in Montréal.

      Nadia Di Chiara joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in July 2012 as Senior Investment Advisor, reporting to the Vice-President, New Economy. Prior to her arrival at the Fonds, Ms. Di Chiara was an investment analyst for seven years at Société générale de financement du Québec, and before that, a financial analyst at CAE. She has over 14 years of business financing experience in the IT and aerospace sectors. Ms. Di Chiara holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Université du Québec à Montréal.

      Danny Gagné joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2002 as a portfolio manager in the life sciences sector. In 2011, he began assuming responsibility for the natural resources investment portfolio. With a career spanning over 18 years, Mr. Gagné has built solid expertise in business financing, having worked first as a financial analyst for Innovatech Grand Montréal and then as an associate analyst in the biotech and health division of National Bank Financial. Mr. Gagné holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Finance from HEC Montréal.

      Gaétan Gravel joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1997. He has over 30 years of experience in business financing and venture capital. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, Mr. Gravel spent about 20 years working for a leading Canadian financial institution, where he held various positions, including Financial Analyst and Customer Service and Development Director for Québec. Holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from HEC Montréal, Mr. Gravel has developed solid expertise in securing financing for public and private companies as well as for external funds, complementing his distinctive life science skills.

      Geneviève Guertin

      Geneviève Guertin joined the Fonds de solidarité in March 2012 as Senior Investment Advisor in the life sciences sector. Prior to her arrival at the Fonds, Ms. Guertin spent nine years as Director, Investment Monitoring, in the life sciences sector of Société générale de financement du Québec, honing her skills in this industry. Before that, she was a financial analyst at Bell Canada. Geneviève Guertin holds a masters degree in management science from HEC Montréal and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
    • Serge Langford

      With 35 years of experience, including 26 years in venture capital, Serge Langford is an expert in the life sciences industry: he is a seasoned professional in managing investment projects and handling large transactions in this field. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, Mr. Langford worked as a venture capital consultant. He was managing partner at Multiple Capital and before that, Investment Manager at Desjardins Venture Capital. Serge Langford earned a Masters degree in management sciences from HEC Montréal, where he taught a course on managerial economics, offered as part of the management certificate program.
    • Didier Leconte

      Didier Leconte joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in December 2012 as Senior Director, Investments for the Life Sciences sector. During his career he has held various managing positions, all related to innovation. Didier Leconte started his career in 1990 in France in the energy sector at the GDF Suez Research Division as project manager. In 1996, he joined the Canadian subsidiary of GDF Suez and provided his expertise to Gaz Métro. In 1999, he joined the Natural Gas Technologies Centre as Commercial Director and afterwards, R&D Director. He negotiated development contracts with many gas manufacturing companies. From 2004 to 2012, he was a major player in the commercialization of university research in Québec. In 2004, he joined Gestion Univalor, where he was responsible for the innovations portfolio of engineering and sciences, and some medical devices. In 2009, Didier Leconte became the CEO of MSBi Valorisation and in 2012, he arranged the merger with Valeo Management (now Aligo Innovation), of which he was the interim president. Mr. Leconte holds a degree in materials engineering from Paris XIII University as well as a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) specialized in technology management from UQAM-ESG. He also holds a university certification in Corporate Governance from Université Laval's Collège des administrateurs de sociétés.
    • Florence Rozen

      Florence Rozen joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2009 as Senior Scientific Advisor. After beginning her career as a researcher in the therapeutic research laboratory of a leading pharmaceutical firm, Ms. Rozen went on to conduct medical research for two large Montréal hospitals. She subsequently moved to a large venture capital firm specializing in life sciences, where she served as Scientific and Investment Analyst, and Head of Operations. Ms. Rozen holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from McGill University.

      François Brulotte joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2003 as Valuation Advisor. In a finance career spanning 15 years, he has worked for leading financial institutions, financing companies and financial advisory firms. Mr. Brulotte has sound expertise in evaluating financial instruments such as stocks, debentures, preferred shares and hybrid instruments, having conducted valuations in such varied contexts as mergers & acquisitions, buyouts and restructurings. François Brulotte holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance concentration and an MBA from École des sciences de la gestion de l'UQÀM. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

      Alain Foisy joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1999 as Head of Labour Relations and Staffing and later became Director, Administrative Support. In 2007, he joined the Labour Relations, Partner Companies, team as Development Agent. Holder of a bachelor's degree in industrial relations from Université de Montréal, Mr. Foisy worked for 18 years at local 298 of the Syndicat québécois des employées et employés de service, QFL, the last four as President. During this time, he was also a member of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ board of directors.
    • Linda Lachance

      Linda Lachance joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000 as Portfolio Manager, Quebec Public Markets. In this capacity, she is responsible for stock transactions and derivative strategies for the Marketable Securities portfolio as well as for providing advice on large-cap debt transactions. Ms. Lachance is particularly adept at analyzing special situations and Québec small caps. Prior to her recruitment by the organization, she worked for prominent brokerage firms. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Linda Lachance earned a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and International Management from HEC Montréal.
    • Jodi A. Lackman

      Jodi Lackman joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2004 as Legal Advisor. In her current role, she deals with the many legal facets of the Fonds' investment operations. From defining the legal structure of transactions to their negotiation and closing, Me Lackman is involved at each step of the investment process. Occasionally, she also delivers legal training to Fonds employees. Prior to her arrival at the Fonds, Me Lackman worked for a major Montréal law firm with offices in Toronto and New York. In addition to her bachelor's degree in journalism and communications from Concordia University, Me Lackman holds a Bachelor of Civil Law/Bachelor of Law (B.C.L/LL.B) from McGill University. She has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1997.

      Denis Lapalme joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1998 as Development Agent in the Labour Relations, Partner Companies office. During his time at the Fonds, he has acquired experience in many sectors. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, Mr. Lapalme worked in such areas as air transport, culture, municipalities, hospitals and school boards. A committed labour activist, he was the spokesperson for the Ligue des droits et libertés for the electronic surveillance division, Chairperson of CAW District 400, National Vice-Chairperson of CAW local 2213 (Air Canada), President of the CAW Québec Council, and member of the CAW-TCA Canada National Council. Denis Lapalme holds a degree in life sciences, with concentrations in History, Political Science and Economics, from Université du Québec à Montréal. He is also a certified QFL trainer.

      Manon St-Jean joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1998 as Senior Marketing Advisor in the Market Analysis and Development office. Her duties include formulating recommendations for investment projects, advising the investment team and prospecting, tracking and furthering the growth of companies in the portfolio. With over 20 years of experience in marketing, Ms. St-Jean has been Marketing Director, Development Director and Product Manager for prominent companies. She also worked for nine years in the life sciences sector, allowing her to develop solid expertise in the field. Manon St-Jean earned her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Université du Québec à Montréal, as well as a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Marketing from HEC Montréal.

      Sylvain Tellier joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2007 as Tax Specialist in the Taxation office. Prior to his recruitment by the organization, he worked for various prominent accounting firms. Mr. Tellier has sound expertise in taxation, more specifically, corporate restructuring, estate planning, and scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) tax credit financing. He also has excellent knowledge of securities. Holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting, from UQÀM as well as a master's degree in taxation from Université de Sherbrooke, Sylvain Tellier is also a Chartered Accountant (CA). He has almost 20 years of experience in taxation.
