Buoyed by a Successful Launch in 2016, Hameau Saint-Jacques Kicks Off Phase 3

Québec City, February 19, 2019 – Groupe immobilier SMB and its partners Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ – Québec today announced the start of construction and marketing of phase three of the Hameau Saint-Jacques project in Québec City.

This third phase of this development, located near Chauveau Park, will consist of three buildings with a total of 21 townhouses, including 14 with 2 storeys and 7 with 3 storeys. Basements that can accommodate two extra bedrooms as well as a family room, the peace of mind that comes with condo ownership and garages are some of the features of this project that enhance the value of each unit.

“We’re happy to launch phase 3 and improve what the project has to offer. At the request of many customers, 8 of the 14 townhouses in this new phase will have basement garages. With its top-quality materials and interior design, Hameau Saint-Jacques also offers a setting that is steeped in nature and close to the city, providing the best of both worlds,” said Sylvain Tremblay, President of Groupe immobilier SMB.

“Our partner is well aware that townhouses appeal to many different types of buyers. According to a survey1 conducted in October in Québec City on the intention to buy or sell a property, 44% of 18-34 year-olds plan to buy a home in the next five years. They are sensitive to prices, which is the first criterion that will determine how soon they will be able to purchase a property (61% of respondents). However, besides price, buyers aged 55 and over choose a property based on proximity to services - stores, restaurants, recreation, hospitals (59%), neighbourhood safety (38 %) and access to parks and green spaces (26 %). In terms of meeting these criteria, Hameau Saint-Jacques fares very well, which is why it attracts a varied clientele,” said Normand Bélanger, President and CEO of the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ.

Strategically located on the banks of the Saint-Charles River, Hameau Saint-Jacques is geared to nature lovers, offering direct access to bicycle and walking trails yet also just minutes from the Galeries de la Capitale and the Lebourgneuf business area. Once completed, the project will consist of 7 buildings with 15 condos and 40 two- or three-storey townhouses, each with a private backyard.
