Janie Béïque Appointed Executive Vice-President for Investments at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ

Montréal, June 8, 2018 – Gaétan Morin, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, is pleased to announce the appointment of Janie Béïque as Executive Vice-President, Investments, as of July 6, 2018. In this role, she will sit on the Fonds’ Management Committee.

A lawyer by training, Ms. Béïque joined the Fonds in 2000 as Vice-President of Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary. In that role, she also sat on the Fonds’ Management Committee. In 2008 she moved to the Investment sector where she served, in turn, as Senior Vice-President, New Economy, and Senior Vice-President, Natural Resources, Industries, Entertainment and Consumer Goods. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Béïque was Chief of Investments and Strategic Investment Initiatives. She holds an MBA from Georgetown University in the U.S. and ESADE in Spain.

“Janie’s multidisciplinary background, her keen intelligence and mobilizing personality make her the perfect candidate to meet Québec’s economic challenges in the coming years. Ms. Béïque will succeed Normand Chouinard, who has decided to take a well-deserved retirement after a 20-year career within the Fonds network.
