Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ Is Helping Revitalize Neighbourhoods with $1.5 Billion of Projects in Progress in the Metropolitan Montréal

Montréal, March 21, 2016 – On the occasion of the Strategic Forum on Major Real Estate Projects organized by the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ is proud to highlight its involvement in 25 ongoing projects valued at over $1.5 billion in metropolitan Montréal that will be carried out in partnership with some 20 seasoned developers. The Fonds immobilier also has 13 properties under management worth $422 million.

“We’re proud to be a partner of choice in important projects that bode well for the future of metropolitan Montréal,” said Normand Bélanger, President and CEO of the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ. “We’re fortunate to have such excellent partners who share our vision and values and who work with us to drive the local economy. The 25 projects currently underway will create about 12,000 jobs over the next few years.”

The Fonds immobilier is very active across Québec and especially in the Montréal region, in particular in mixed-use commercial and residential projects, including high-end condos and rental units in booming neighbourhoods. It has also invested $59 million in affordable social and community housing in partnership with social economy enterprises.

In Laval, the Fonds immobilier is involved in several residential, industrial and commercial projects, including Espace Montmorency, an emerging urban hub that will provide access to the Montmorency metro, just steps away from Place Bell. A special presentation on this very project, which is being carried out with Montoni and Claridge, will be given at the Strategic Forum. Not to be outdone, the South Shore has four quality residential developments in progress.
