Fonds de solidarité FTQ Suspends Appeal in Charbonneau Commission Wiretapping Matter Pending Supreme Court Rulings in Other Cases

Montréal, December 20, 2013 – In order to preserve their rights pending the outcome of three cases to be heard by the Supreme Court of Canada next spring, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ and Michel Arsenault, following a unanimous decision of the Fonds’ Board of Directors, will apply to the Court of Appeal for leave to appeal the Superior Court’s decision, as well as for a stay of the proceedings. If allowed, these applications will eliminate the need for new hearings and will not affect the work of the Charbonneau Commission.
