Montréal, March 23, 2012 – As part of the Montréal Real Estate held on March 20, the Urban Development Institute of Québec (UDI Québec) selected the Imperial Lofts, a real estate project carried out in partnership by Prével and Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ, as the recipient of its Real Estate Award of Excellence in the Multiresidential category. Cardinal Hardy, today Groupe IBI-CHBA, also shared in the award for the project’s architectural design.
“We’ve been working with Prével on avant-garde, quality projects for more than 15 years. The UDI award recognizes the expertise of Prével’s teams, who work in harmony with the community, the environment and Montréal’s heritage. The Imperial Lofts project was quite a challenge because it called for converting eight buildings that were part of the old Imperial Tobacco plant into urban condos and lofts. This project has done a lot for the St-Henri neighbourhood, which is undergoing a major transformation, and we’re very proud to be a part of it,” said Normand Bélanger, President and CEO of Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ.
The Imperial Lofts project has nine phases, which once completed will consist of 632 condominiums and urban lofts, and 113 social housing units. Phases 8 and 9 are currently under construction and scheduled for completion in February and March 2013 respectively.
