Fonds de solidarité FTQ Invests $30 Million in Logibec Groupe Informatique and Helps Keep Its Headquarters in Québec

Montréal, July 20, 2010 – With a $30 million investment in the form of an unsecured debenture, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ (the “Fonds”) has participated in the privatization of Logibec Groupe Informatique Ltée (“Logibec”) by OPE LGI Inc., an entity managed by OMERS Private Equity Inc., the private equity arm of OMERS Worldwide group of companies. The Fonds’ investment not only helps keep Logibec’s headquarters and principal place of business in Québec, it also helps preserve over 200 jobs in the province. Other Québec investors took part in this transaction, namely Société générale de financement du Québec and National Bank of Canada, which, among other things, led the banking syndicate.

“A Québec leader in a niche market, Logibec Groupe Informatique has, over the years, developed a global offering of high-tech, value-added products and services. With solid partners and a strong management team, Logibec is now poised to pursue its expansion in North America. In the medium term, the company is contemplating growth projects in the U.S., which is very exciting for the entire team,” stated Janie Béïque, the Fonds’ Senior Vice-President, New Economy.

Since its inception, the Fonds has made $1.3 billion of direct and indirect investments in IT and telecommunications firms. Logibec is now one of the Fonds’ 48 partner companies in these fields.
