Employees of the Solidarity Fund QFL and Its Network Proudly Donate $204,356 to Centraide

Montréal, December 17, 2007 – Once again, the employees of the Solidarity Fund QFL (the “Fund”) and the Regional Solidarity Funds were very generous this year. The fundraising campaign on behalf of Centraide raised $204,356, which includes an institutional donation as well as amounts collected from the employees of the Fund and of its network of regional funds. Most of this year’s proceeds will go to Centraide of Greater Montréal while the remainder will be distributed among the agency’s various organizations across Québec.

The generosity shown by the employees of the Fund and its network is precisely the type of support Centraide needs from workers to be able to help the less privileged. According to a survey conducted by Omnibus Léger Marketing, most Quebecers think that big business and individuals account for the lion’s share of Centraide donations, when in fact, 56% come from workers.

“We’ve been supporting Centraide since the Fund’s inception and after each campaign, I’m always impressed with our employees’ generosity. I would also like to commend our volunteer fundraisers for making this campaign a success year after year. The Fund believes strongly in solidarity and the well-being of our community. As such, I would also like to congratulate Centraide and its staff for their work in helping those most in need ”, said Yvon Bolduc, president and CEO of the Solidarity Fund QFL.
