Revenu Québec Resolves Labour Fund Tax Credit Situation

Montréal, April 5, 2017 – A few days ago, the Fonds de solidarité FTQ began receiving calls from shareholders claiming that Revenu Québec was refusing their request for the provincial labour fund tax credit even though they were entitled to it. The Fonds de solidarité FTQ immediately contacted Québec’s tax authorities.

Revenu Québec today confirmed to the Fonds that the problem has been identified and resolved. The taxpayers concerned will receive a new, corrected contribution notice in the next few days or early next week at the latest.

According to the information obtained by the Fonds, the individuals concerned are entitled to between $1 and $750 each. All 7,500 cases have been identified and 94% of the tax returns have already been corrected.

The individuals in question do not need to contact Revenu Québec, which is aware of the situation and is making the necessary changes.

The Fonds would like to highlight the diligence with which Revenu Québec handled this matter.
