Lévis, December 7, 2016 – In 2004, engineers Jean Bérubé and Marc Voyer created VAB Solutions Inc. to offer equipment maintenance and repair services to the forest sector. VAB has been actively engaged in R&D since its inception in an effort to develop equipment that meets the needs of the forestry industry. Today, VAB offers solutions for production lines, from sawing to planing, that help optimize operations.
To support the growth of VAB Solutions Inc. and its subsidiaries, the Fonds régionaux de solidarité Chaudière-Appalaches is investing $1.5 million to help the company make inroads into the U.S. market. Headquartered in Lévis, the company has 25 employees.

With such partner companies, we see the importance of innovation, even in the most traditional manufacturing sectors,” said Jean Roy, Regional Director of the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ for the Chaudière-Appalaches and Québec City regions.
“The financial participation of the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ comes at the right time in that it will support our growth by allowing us to cultivate new export markets. Its widespread presence in the forestry and manufacturing sectors will increase networking opportunities, which are so essential to our growth,” said Jean Bérubé, Eng, President of VAB Solutions.
VAB markets a full grader and a transverse sawmill optimizer, both of which use digital vision technology and proprietary software. VAB also fabricates and markets curve sawing systems and instruments to measure mechanical resistance for lumber grading and production control.
