Bâtimo, Construction Voyer and Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ Launch Lib Boisbriand

Boisbriand, April 6, 2016 – Bâtimo, Construction Voyer and the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ are joining forces on a new multi-residential project in the Faubourg Boisbriand neighbourhood. Dubbed Lib Boisbriand, the project launched Phase I today, consisting of a top-quality rental building geared to the 55+ age group, pre-retirees and active seniors. Inspired by the free spirit and optimism that characterize the baby boomer generation, Lib is short for the French word liberté and refers to the freedom that comes with retirement.

The building will offer 149 apartments over 7 floors. The construction will be handled by EMD Construction and break ground in the weeks ahead with completion slated for Spring 2017. Developed with its target clientele in mind, the project will offer tenants a beautiful indoor pool, an outdoor garden, and common spaces that include a lounge and a party room with a kitchen to facilitate family and social gatherings.

Available in one-, two- and three-bedroom units, the building will also have an underground garage with 87 spaces, as well as 136 outdoor spots. A second phase may be added at a later date next to the first.

“Baby boomers will be spoiled by Lib Boisbriand’s proximity to services since the building is walking distance to the Faubourg Boisbriand shopping centre and its countless retail stores, a supermarket, a drugstore, banks, restaurants and big box stores. And to the south they’ll find a park and a lake surrounded by walking and bicycle paths, creating a peaceful, relaxing environment,” said Bâtimo president Francis Charron.

“The Lib will be the first project of its kind in Boisbriand designed for a clientele looking for a new active lifestyle without the maintenance worries that come with home ownership,” added Normand Bélanger, President and CEO of the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ. “In addition to stimulating the local economy, this real estate project will help create 190 jobs.”

According to Boisbriand Mayor Marlène Cordato, “This project comes at just the right time in that it meets needs that our residents have been expressing for a while now. Boisbriand residents on the cusp of retirement are looking for new, quality construction in an area with services nearby and an active, stimulating lifestyle.”

Located on Rue Francs-Bourgeois, near the intersection of Boulevard de la Grande-Allée, Lib Boisbriand is near major highways - autoroutes 640 and 15 – and less than 3 km from the Sainte-Thérèse train station, which offers incentive parking.

The rental office will be open to the public on April 9 and 10. During the weekend, local residents will be invited to learn more about the project through radio broadcasts.

For the Fonds immobilier, Lib Boisbriand marks the beginning of a business relationship with Construction Voyer and strengthens the ties it already has with Bâtimo, a residential developer specializing in the construction of residences for active seniors. The Fonds immobilier and Bâtimo are currently collaborating on the 175 Metcalfe project in Westmount.
