Reinstatement of Federal Tax Credit in 2016 Budget: A Winning Partnership for the Middle Class and the Economy

Montréal, January 14, 2016 – “The full reinstatement of the labour fund tax credit in the next federal budget is great news for the middle class and the economy.” Such was the reaction of Gaétan Morin, President and CEO of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, to the announcement made today by federal Minister of Finance Bill Morneau at a press conference in Winnipeg.

“By sending this clear message during RRSP season, the federal government is acknowledging that when it comes to saving for retirement, labour funds are very important for the middle class.”

“We commend Prime Minister Trudeau and his Minister of Finance, Bill Morneau, for taking the initiative to renew our partnership with the federal government in order to support growth and prosperity,” concluded Mr. Morin.
