Montreal Gateway Terminals: the Fonds de solidarité FTQ support Québec’s maritime and strategic infrastructure sectors

Montréal, March 6, 2015 – The Fonds de solidarité FTQ has joined the Québec-based majority consortium led by Fiera Axium Infrastructure for the acquisition of Montreal Gateway Terminals (MGT). This investment is part of the Fonds’ desire to support Québec’s maritime and strategic infrastructure sectors. The transaction was made public earlier today by Fiera Axium Infrastructure.

“MGT is a key component of the Port of Montréal, an important asset for all of Québec. With our Québec partners, we are thus bringing back to Montréal a strategic infrastructure’s majority ownership and its decision making-center. This is a good investment for our shareholders and for the Québec economy”, said Normand Chouinard, Executive Vice-President, Investments, for the Fonds de solidarité FTQ.

“The development of strategic infrastructure such as MGT is essential for tomorrow’s Québec economy. The company is at the heart of the maritime sector, of which the Saint-Lawrence River is the backbone”, continued Jean Wilhelmy, Senior Vice-President, Aerospace, Construction and Services.
