Montréal, December 20, 2012 – Michel Arsenault, Chairman of the Board of Fonds de solidarité FTQ (the “Fonds”) and President of the FTQ, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michèle Colpron to the Fonds Board.
“We’re very happy to welcome Michèle Colpron to our Board of Directors,” stated Mr. Arsenault. “Her extensive knowledge of financial institutions and her expertise in finance, money markets, accounting and operations as well as her corporate governance certification will be tremendous assets for our Board.”
A member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés, Ms. Colpron currently sits on the Board of the Fonds d’assurance responsabilité professionnelle du Barreau du Québec. During her tenure at Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec, she was Senior Vice-president, Financial Management from 2009 to 2012, Vice-president, Investment Management from 2005 to 2009, Vice-president, Finance and Administration from 2002 to 2004 and Director, Strategic Development from 2000 to 2001. Prior to that, she held various positions at Merrill Lynch Bank (Switzerland) S.A., Standard Chartered Bank and Ernst & Young.
As a Fonds director, Ms. Colpron will also sit on the Fonds’ Financial Assets Management Committee. Her appointment is effective today.
