Fonds de solidarité FTQ invests $4.725 million in Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc.

Montréal, December 6, 2012 – The Fonds de solidarité FTQ is investing $4.725 million in Mediagrif Interactive Technologies Inc., a Longueuil-based company in the new economy sector. This investment is realized in connection with Mediagrif’s private placement of common shares totalling $35 million.

Founded in 1996, Mediagrif provides business and consumers with innovative e-commerce solutions to help them maximize their reach and effectiveness. The company’s e-business networks include MERX in the government opportunities sector and LesPAC in the consumer solutions field.

“This investment shows the Fonds de solidarité FTQ’s ongoing commitment to support the new economy sector and companies with a bright future ahead such as Mediagrif,” stated Alain Denis, Senior Vice-President for New Economy at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ. “Mediagrif can count on an experienced management team that has allowed the company to show good results. This transaction is good for the Fonds’ shareholders, the development of Québec’s information technology sector and the future of Mediagrif.” 

The Fonds de solidarité FTQ and the Fonds régionaux de solidarité FTQ  information technology and telecommunications portfolios include 52 partner companies, representing total investments of $825 million. More than 3400 jobs were created, maintained or saved through these companies.
