Fonds de solidarité FTQ announces another investment in Brossard’s Acquisio

Montreal, August 8, 2012 – The Fonds de solidarité FTQ is very pleased to announce a second investment in Acquisio, a new-economy enterprise based in Brossard that develops automated management software solutions for marketing firms and their online marketing campaigns.

Since the Fonds de solidarité’s first investment in Acquisio was announced last February, the Montérégie enterprise has grown from 66 to 103 employees in Québec. During the next 18 months, Acquisio plans on hiring about 40 more people.

The Fonds’s latest investment will allow Acquisio to continue its expansion and conclude targeted acquisitions. The company today announced the acquisition of software developer ScienceOps.

As rightly said Alain Denis, Fonds de solidarité FTQ Senior Vice-President, New Economy, when the Fonds announced its first investment in Acquisio last February: “Acquisio is a promising young company that has made a place for itself in a booming market. The Fonds de solidarité FTQ is proud to partner with a Québec tech firm whose international expansion will have a ripple effect here at home by consolidating and creating jobs”.

SME growth will be fuelled by expansion outside Québec

International expansion not only allows SMEs to consolidate their Québec operations and by extension, jobs at home, but makes them even more solid and competitive which is conducive to keeping decision-making centres here in Québec. From 2006 to 2010, Fonds partner companies that ventured beyond our borders saw sales grow 27% and jobs increase by nearly 5%.
