Fonds de solidarité FTQ invests $2 million in Acquisio which will create 60 jobs

Saint-Lambert, February 13, 2012 The Fonds de solidarité FTQ is pleased to announce a $2 million investment in Acquisio, a new-economy enterprise based in Saint-Lambert that develops management software for online marketing campaigns.

“Acquisio is a promising young company that has made a place for itself in a booming market. The Fonds de solidarité FTQ is proud to partner with a Québec tech firm whose international expansion will have a ripple effect here at home by consolidating and creating jobs” said Alain Denis, Senior Vice-President, New Economy, at the Fonds de solidarité FTQ.

“The Fonds’ investment will allow Acquisio to venture into the international market for online advertising management which will lead to the creation of some 60 jobs over the next 18 months” added Acquisio’s CEO, Martin Le Sauteur.

The Fonds de solidarité FTQ congratulates M. Le Sauteur for recently being named by the Quebec Technology Association as one of three finalists for the 2012 Investissement Québec CEO of the Year Award.

SME growth will be fuelled by expansion outside Québec

International expansion not only allows SMEs to consolidate their Québec operations and by extension, jobs at home, but makes them even more solid and competitive which is conducive to keeping decision-making centres here in Québec. From 2006 to 2010, Fonds partner companies that ventured beyond our borders saw sales grow 27% and jobs increase by nearly 5%.

The Acquisio investment was made possible by the Fonds’ roughly 583,000 shareholders who enjoy 30% in additional tax savings by purchasing a Fonds RRSP.

An  RRSP that offers an additional 30% in tax savings

Whether Quebecers are looking to save for their first home, buy equipment for their small business or a new project, it’s easier than ever to save an additional 30% on their taxes by contributing to a Fonds de solidarité FTQ RRSP.

There are a number of ways to contribute: through our new transactional site (www.CYBERFONDSFTQ.com), at any one of our 59 field offices across Québec or by calling Shareholder Services.

Shareholders can choose whether to contribute on a regular basis, either through payroll deduction or pre-authorized withdrawals, or in a single, lump-sum payment.

Lastly, the Fonds would like to remind the public that there is no limit on the number of shares available this year and that the RRSP contribution deadline for the 2011 tax year is February 29, 2012.
