Québec City, October 21, 2010 – The Fonds régional de solidarité FTQ Québec today announced a $900,000 investment in Groupe Incursion inc. to accelerate the growth of one of its entities, Incursion Voyages travel agency. The new co-president of Incursion Voyages, François Cornut, also invested in the agency.
With its 35 employees in Québec City, Incursion Voyages is an industry leader that has carved out a unique position in the market by combining the role of wholesaler and retailer. The travel agency creates its own tours and negotiates directly with carriers and tour operators around the world, thereby ensuring better quality control and traveler safety. Incursion Voyages has been recognized by, among others, the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies Atlas Awards, and in 2007 was named “Agency of the Year” in both Québec and Canada.
“This is our first investment in this company that operates in a very promising market niche. In fact, group travel has picked up sharply in the last few years as baby boomers in Québec and French Canada take their retirement. Incursion Voyages therefore seemed the perfect gateway for us to get involved in the travel market,” said Jean Roy, regional director of the Fonds régional de Solidarité FTQ de Québec. Mr. Roy added that he was very proud to have earned the trust of business owners in the region and to contribute to its development.
“We are confident that this new partnership with the Fonds régional de solidarité FTQ Québec will be beneficial since this first investment will allow us not only to strengthen our position in Québec but to broaden our markets as well,” commented the co-presidents of Incursion Voyages, François Cornut and Jean-Pierre Caron.
