Solidarity Fund QFL Banks on Innovative Companies and Boosts Its Investment in Omni-Med.com inc. to $4.5 Million

Montréal, April 3, 2007 – The Solidarity Fund QFL (the “Fund”) is increasing its investment in Omni-Med.com Inc. to $4.5 million. Omni-Med.com specializes in technology solutions that enable health institutions to electronically manage patient records.

With these solutions and the patient authorization, physicians and clinicians can share information and access, in real time, their patients’ records from any practice setting. The Fund’s additional $2.5 million investment will enable Omni-Med.com to develop its offering so as to better meet its clientele’s needs. The company is currently implementing its electronic solutions in the Mauricie, Centre du Québec, Bas St-Laurent, Laval and Montérégie regions.

“Omni-Med.com knew how to seize an opportunity and as a result, is an industry leader in the Québec market. Its future also bodes well thanks to a management team that has clearly demonstrated its business acumen and expertise. The Fund is proud to be associated with such an innovative Québec company,” stated Jacques Bernier, the Fund’s Senior Vice-President, Information Technologies, Telecommunications and Industrial Innovations.

Omni-Med.com CEO Dr. Jean Boilard added, “Our partnership with the Fund will allow us to hire employees to help us grow, deploy our solutions across Québec and boost our marketing efforts in North America.” The company has also strengthened its Board of Directors with new members: Richard Royer, engineer and former chief executive of Teknika; Dr. Hughes Bergeron, former assistant director of the Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens du Québec; Roger Simard, co-founder of Conceptis Technologie; and Brian Dillon, an entrepreneur in the health technology sector.
