    • Janie C. Béïque

      Janie C. Béïque joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000. Prior to her appointment as Senior Vice-President, Natural Resources, Industries and Consumer Goods, Me Béïque was Senior Vice-President, New Economy, and before that, Vice-President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary, where she was responsible for legal and regulatory issues and government matters. She has also served on the Fonds' Management Committee. Me Beïque currently sits on several Fonds committees, including the Investment Management Committee. She is a board director of Canada's Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA) and a member of the Autorité des marchés financiers' advisory committee on SME financing and of the Teralys Capital investment committee. Lastly, she sits on the jury of the Grand Prix québécois de la qualité awards. In the past, Me Beïque was co-chair of Réseau Capital and a member of its executive committee and board. She also served on the boards of BioQuébec and Montréal InVivo. Prior to her arrival at the Fonds, Me Beïque worked for a prominent law firm. In 2005, she was named one of Canada's top corporate lawyers under 40 by Lexpert magazine. Holder of a law degree from Université de Montréal, Me Beïque has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1991 and is registered on the roll of the Ordre.
    • Patrice Jolivet

      Portfolio Manager

      Patrice Jolivet joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2003 as Portfolio Manager for the Chemistry, Wood and Pulp and Paper sector. In 2011 he became Portfolio Manager for the Transportation Equipment and Automobile sector.Since December 2012, he is involved in the Agri-food sector. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, Mr. Jolivet spent over 20 years working for various well-known financial institutions, as well as for the Fonds régional de solidarité Île de Montréal and CDP Capital Technologies, a subsidiary of Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. He has extensive expertise securing financing for manufacturing firms, built by assisting clients with acquisition, expansion and modernization projects. Mr. Jolivet also helped many technology start-ups get off the ground. Holder of a business administration degree from McGill University, Patrice Jolivet has been a director or observer on the boards of various private Canadian and American companies active in the manufacturing, IT and biotechnology industries.
    • René Kurth

      Vice-President, Investments - Agrifood, Plastics and Packaging

      René Kurth joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2002. Before managing the Agri-food and Plastics portfolios, he was Portfolio Manager for the Agri-food, Metal Products and Life Sciences sectors. Mr. Kurth has over 25 years of experience in the international telecommunications industry and in multimedia software design. He also held various management positions in the Canadian industrial publication field. After serving as team leader at the accounting firm of Samson Bélair, he moved to Les éditions Panini du Canada Inc., where he was President and CEO from 1985 to 1998. He then became Vice-President, Finance, of Cescom Inc., an IP telecommunications firm. Holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration, with an Accounting option, from HEC Montréal, René Kurth is also a Chartered Accountant (CA).
    • Dominic Lainesse

      Senior Investment Advisor

      Dominic Lainesse joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2004 as Accountant, Financial Information. He subsequently became Coordinator, Financial Information, before assuming the position of Financial Analyst, Investments. In June 2010 Mr. Lainesse was appointed Investment Advisor, Natural Resources, Industries and Consumer Goods. In this capacity, he has participated in several large transactions involving as much as $25 million of investments. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, Mr. Lainesse spent seven years at one of Canada's most prominent professional services firms, including three as Accreditation Director. Holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, he also holds the designation of Chartered Accountant.

      Youssef Lemgendez joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2012 as investment advisor for the agri-food sector. Mr. Lemgendez has over 20 years' experience in business and project financing and consulting, acquired at prominent financial institutions. He holds an MBA in business and project financing and a graduate diploma in management accounting (D.E.S.S.) from École des sciences de la gestion UQAM. Mr. Lemgendez also holds the designation of Chartered Accountant (CPA, CMA).

      Benoît Tétrault joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2008 as Portfolio Manager in the Agri-food sector. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, he worked for both large corporations and SMEs, including a number of top-ranked financial institutions as Investment Director for the Agri-food sector. Holder of a bachelor's degree in economics from Université de Montréal and an MBA, with a Finance concentration, from HEC Montréal, Benoît Tétrault stands out for his ability to combine his in-depth knowledge of the agri-food industry with that of the financial world. Mr. Tétrault serves on the boards of various organizations, including Produits alimentaires Viau and CFAI.

    • Julie Ayotte

      Taxation Expert

      Julie Ayotte joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2015 as a tax expert. Prior to her arrival at the Fonds, she spent seven years as Manager, Private Tax, at one of Canada's largest professional services firms. During her career, Ms. Ayotte has developed extensive expertise in taxation, particularly in the area of research and analysis of complex tax provisions. She completed her studies at HEC Montréal, where she obtained a Master of Law in Taxation (LL.M. Fisc.), a graduate diploma in public accounting (D.E.S.S.), and a Bachelor of Administration. She holds the designation of Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA).
    • Sébastien Berthelet

      Senior Legal Advisor

      Sébastien Berthelet joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2007 as Legal Advisor. In his current role, he deals with the many legal facets of the Fonds' investment operations. From defining the legal structure of transactions to their negotiation and closing, Me Berthelet is involved at each step of the investment process. He also occasionally delivers legal training to Fonds employees. Prior to joining the Fonds, Me Berthelet spent several years at a prominent pan-Canadian legal firm, where he acquired solid expertise in mergers & acquisitions. Holder of a law degree from Université de Montréal, Sébastien Berthelet also studied common law at the Osgoode Hall Law School of York University. In addition, he completed accounting and finance courses at the McGill International Executive Institute and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1999.
    • Nathalie Bilodeau

      Nathalie Bilodeau joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1996 as Senior Marketing Advisor in the Market Analysis and Development office. Her duties include formulating recommendations for investment projects, advising the investment team and prospecting, tracking and furthering the growth of companies in the portfolio. With over 20 years experience in marketing, Ms. Bilodeau has built sound expertise in industrial technologies, clean/environmental technologies, agri-food, film and culture, and printing and publishing. During her career, she has worked for well-known marketing firms and top-ranked financial institutions. She has also served on numerous boards and been a member of several associations and committees. She was also a shop steward. Ms. Bilodeau received a Bachelor of Arts (minor in mathematics/statistics, economics and industrial relations) from Université Laval, as well as an MBA, with a concentration in marketing HEC Montréal.

      Gilles Côté joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1987 as Valuation Advisor. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, he worked as a financial analyst and an investment advisor. With over 30 years of experience in finance, Mr. Côté has sound expertise in financial instrument valuation, particularly stocks, debentures, preferred shares and hybrid instruments. He has conducted valuations in numerous contexts, including mergers & acquisitions, minority interest investments, buyouts and restructurings. Mr. Côté earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in finance from Université Laval. Before joining the organization, he worked for Société québécoise des transports, a crown corporation that finances companies specializing in the transport of merchandise and people.

      Alain Foisy joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1999 as Head of Labour Relations and Staffing and later became Director, Administrative Support. In 2007, he joined the Labour Relations, Partner Companies, team as Development Agent. Holder of a bachelor's degree in industrial relations from Université de Montréal, Mr. Foisy worked for 18 years at local 298 of the Syndicat québécois des employées et employés de service, QFL, the last four as President. During this time, he was also a member of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ board of directors.
    • Sonia Lévêque

      Senior Legal Advisor

      Sonia Lévêque joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1998 as Legal Advisor. In this capacity, she deals with the many legal facets of the Fonds' investment operations. From defining the legal structure of transactions to their negotiation and closing, Me. Lévêque is involved at each step of the investment process. She also occasionally delivers legal training to Fonds employees. Prior to joining the Fonds, Me Lévêque worked for two years in Hydro-Québec's legal department as a litigator of electricity theft cases. Holder of a law degree from Université de Montréal, Me Lévêque recently completed Italian courses at the intermediate-advanced level. She is also the corporate secretary of a partner company and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1996.
    • Linda Lachance

      Portfolio Manager, Québec Public Markets

      Linda Lachance joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000 as Portfolio Manager, Quebec Public Markets. In this capacity, she is responsible for stock transactions and derivative strategies for the Marketable Securities portfolio as well as for providing advice on large-cap debt transactions. Ms. Lachance is particularly adept at analyzing special situations and Québec small caps. Prior to her recruitment by the organization, she worked for prominent brokerage firms. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Linda Lachance earned a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and International Management from HEC Montréal.
    • Guillaume Lemire

      Legal Advisor

      Guillaume Lemire joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ's Legal Affairs team in 2009. As Legal Counsel, he is responsible for the legal aspects of investments made by the Fonds. During his studies, Mr. Lemire founded his company and developed a management software program for medical clinics that is still used today. Actively engaged in his field, he was president of the Université de Montréal student co-op and has been a board member of a caisse populaire for over 7 years. Guillaume Lemire holds a law degree from Université de Montréal and has been a member of the Barreau since 2010.
