Who is eligible to contribute to an RRSP?

Anyone who is 71 years of age or younger on December 31 of the current year and has unused RRSP contribution room can contribute to an RRSP.

However, to contribute to the RRSP+, you must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the province of Québec.

You begin to accumulate RRSP contribution room as soon as you earn eligible income. Eligible income includes net employment or business income.

You can find your maximum contribution limit on your most recent notice of assessment, received from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for the previous tax year, as well as on Form T1028, Your RRSP Information issued by the CRA.
