What happens to my Fonds shares or my FlexiFonds mutual funds upon my death?

In case of death, the succession would inherit the amounts accumulated in your account.

The appointed liquidator can download the required documentation by clicking on the links below. The documents can also be obtained by regular mail by contacting a Saving Services agent or a FlexiFonds mutual fund advisor. For any questions concerning income tax upon a death, we invite the liquidator to contact a tax expert.

Requirements:

The person to whom the Fonds shares or FlexiFonds mutual fund units were assigned by succession must submit a written request for redemption using the form found in the abovementioned guides.

Documents required:

Death record or certificate issued by the Directeur de l'état civil;

AND

request for a testamentary search in the registers of the Chambre des notaires and the Barreau du Québec;

AND

marriage contract; separation order; divorce order or certificate if applicable (in this case, provide the original document(s) or authentic copy(ies) certified by a notary);

AND

notarial will, including all related changes (codicils) (in this case, provide the original document or an authentic copy certified by a notary);

OR

a non-notarial will (in this case, provide the original grant of probate or an authentic copy of the will probated by a notary as well as the number of the notarial minutes).
