Côte-Nord

A resource-rich region, the forestry, mining and hydroelectric sectors drive the Côte-Nord economy. In the last few years, Côte-Nord’s tourism industry has taken off thanks to sweeping, diverse landscapes, abundant wildlife and exceptional flora that have made it a popular destination around the world.

Two equally important centres, Sept-Îles and Baie-Comeau, alone account for half the region’s population as well as much of its manufacturing activities. The Côte-Nord’s economy has been booming lately, fuelled in large part by its resource processing industry and major hydroelectric projects.
