RRSP REDEMPTION CONDITIONS

Perhaps you have decided to go back to school full-time or maybe started a business for which you need money to help create or maintain jobs.

These are just some of the reasons that entitle you to redeem your shares even if you have not yet retired.

Do any of the following situations apply to you?

Cancel your share purchase
Did you just enrol? You have up to 60 days to cancel.
Inject capital into your business
Will you create or maintain jobs?
Emigration from Canada
Have you permanently left Canada?
Return to studies
Will you (or your spouse) be studying full-time for at least a year?
Ineligibility for tax credits
Have your tax credits been refused?
Acceptance of an offer to redeem pension credits
For years of past service or to improve an existing pension plan.
Decrease in net income of shareholher or his or her spouse.
Has your family income decreased?
Involuntary reduction of 20% or more in family income
Applicable only to self-employed workers
Urgent justified need for cash
Are you facing a creditor, a disaster or an exceptional health-related expense?
Total disability
Are you incapable of exercising any truly gainful employment?
Death
If you die, where will your funds be transferred?
Serious and irreversible illness
Acting as a caregiver
Are you acting as a caregiver for a family member?
