    • Alain Denis

      Alain Denis joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2009 as Investment Director of the Information Technologies and Telecommunications sector. An entrepreneur and manager with over 20 years of experience in business and investment, Mr. Denis has held various management positions in leading companies, playing a significant role in their development. Over his career, Alain Denis was, among other things, involved in the launch of a national wireless telecom firm and helped secure financing for and further the development of various companies funded through venture capital in Europe and Asia. More recently, he participated in developing the business of two companies he co-founded, one in health technologies and the other in asset-based lending. A graduate of Université Laval and York University, Mr. Denis holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Finance concentration. Very involved in the business community, he is a board member of several companies and organizations in Montréal.
    • Gaetan Langlois

      Gaétan Langlois joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000 as Portfolio Manager in the Turnaround and Special Projects office. Working in the financial field since 1994, Mr. Langlois has developed sound expertise in business governance as well as in insolvency and restructuring. Before his arrival at the Fonds, he worked in special accounts and commercial credit at a leading Canadian bank as well as at an accounting firm specializing in restructuring. He was also President and CEO of a manufacturing firm. Gaétan Langlois earned an MBA and a B.Sc. from HEC Montréal. He also completed the corporate director's program at the Rothman School of Management at McGill University and is a Certified General Accountant (CGA).
    • Jocelyn Moreau

      Portfolio Manager

      Jocelyn Moreau joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1994. Prior to his appointment as Portfolio Manager, Controlling Interests and Succession, Mr. Moreau was Portfolio Manager for the Strategic Development sector and then the Financial Services sector. Working together with Investissement Québec and other tax-advantaged funds, he was actively involved in the creation of the Fonds Relève Québec. With over 33 years of experience in finance, acquired in the banking sector and in private business management, Mr. Moreau has worked for, among others, Métro-Richelieu, where he served as the company's Finance Director as well as General Manager of one of its subsidiaries. Mr. Moreau earned his MBA from Université de Sherbrooke. He serves on the boards of several firms in the financing sector, as well as the board of a manufacturer and distributor of drilling products with international operations (MBI Drilling Products). He is also a member of various advisory committees of limited partnerships.

      Since joining the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2003, Martin Ostiguy CPA, CA, has closed over $250 million in financings for acquisition, privatization and growth projects for Van Houtte, Metro, Laura Secord, Maison des Futailles, Bikini Village, Premier Tech and others. Since 2009, Martin Ostiguy has been applying his experience in small and large business acquisitions to develop the option of a majority interest, a transfer strategy that ensures a company's survival by resorting to an interim partner. Having completed several acquisitions to date, notably Saladexpress Inc., Abipa Canada Inc. and Les Brasseurs du Nord (Boréale), Mr. Ostiguy is looking for managers of profitable companies located in Québec wishing to take-in ownership of their businesses with management and/or family or willing to partner with the Fonds large capitalization to pursue growth objectives.
    • Gilles Poulin

      Senior Investment Director - Aerospace, Infrastructure and Transportation

      Gilles Poulin joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1998. Employed for nine years by the Fonds, he participated in more than 20 business investment transactions and represented the Fonds on 15 boards. He returned to the Fonds network as Investment Director in 2010 to manage a team of professionals. Mr. Poulin has over 25 years of experience in financing, business sales and acquisitions, investments and management as an institutional investor in times of difficulty, growth and corporate challenges. During his career, he worked for CIBC Bank and National Bank of Canada in financing public and private companies, as well as for the international firm KPMG, where he was a member of the mergers and acquisitions team. Mr. Poulin earned a bachelor's degree in finance from UQÀM and an MBA from HEC Montréal.

      Julie Bolduc joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2001 as Valuation Advisor for the Agri-Food, Textile and Metal Products sectors. Ms. Bolduc has extensive experience in the financial industry, particularly in business valuation involving mergers and acquisitions, minority interest investments, buyouts and restructurings. A Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, Julie Bolduc earned a bachelor's degree in accounting at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. Prior to joining the Fonds, she worked for a prominent accounting firm.
    • Sonia Lévêque

      Senior Legal Advisor

      Sonia Lévêque joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1998 as Legal Advisor. In this capacity, she deals with the many legal facets of the Fonds' investment operations. From defining the legal structure of transactions to their negotiation and closing, Me. Lévêque is involved at each step of the investment process. She also occasionally delivers legal training to Fonds employees. Prior to joining the Fonds, Me Lévêque worked for two years in Hydro-Québec's legal department as a litigator of electricity theft cases. Holder of a law degree from Université de Montréal, Me Lévêque recently completed Italian courses at the intermediate-advanced level. She is also the corporate secretary of a partner company and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1996.
    • Yvan Nantel

      Yvan Nantel joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2004 as Legal Advisor. In his current role, he deals with the many legal facets of the Fonds' investment operations. From defining the legal structure of transactions to their negotiation and closing, Me Nantel is involved at each step of the investment process. He also occasionally delivers legal training to Fonds employees. Prior to joining the Fonds, Me Nantel worked for 18 months for Société générale de financement du Québec. Before that, he worked for an established Montréal law firm where he honed his expertise in commercial transactions and private financing. Yvan Nantel earned a law degree and a diploma in commercial law from Université de Montréal. He has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1983.
