    • Roland Courtois

      Roland Courtois joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1998 and in 2005 was appointed Portfolio Manager for the Financial Services sector. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, he worked as a Chartered Accountant and Management Consultant at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell (subsequently KPMG) and at Maheu Noiseux, where he specialized in business valuation and profitability enhancement for a clientele of companies in Canada and Senegal. As an entrepreneur, Mr Courtois founded, managed and grew a small business specializing in the distribution of wine glasses and accessories. He was also a manager for Air Liquide, overseeing a group of 70 distributors of industrial products. One of his crowning achievements was to transform a money losing pan-Canadian distribution network into a money maker. Mr Courtois has over 30 years of experience in the business world. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Université de Montréal and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario. He completed studies at McGill University to obtain his Chartered Accountant designation. Mr Courtois serves on several boards in the finance industry.

      Claude Jarret joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1990 as a Business Investment Advisor, evaluating investments in partner companies. In 2001 he became Portfolio Manager for the Service Businesses sectors. Mr Jarret has in-depth experience in the financial field acquired as a financial planner for an accounting firm and later for a public company. He also serves on the boards of partner companies. He is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (CPA/CGA) and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CBV).
    • Josée Lachapelle

      Josée Lachapelle joined the Fonds in 1987. Prior to her appointment as Investment Director, she was General Manager of the Fonds régional de solidarité Mauricie-Centre-du-Québec, where she acquired a deep understanding of regional realities. Ms Lachapelle is behind the recent growth of the Financial Services' investment portfolio. She also serves on the boards of companies active in the financial services industry. Holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Josée Lachapelle also received an MBA from HEC Montréal. She has worked in the investment field for over 20 years.
    • Martin Latreille

      Martin Latreille has over 20 years in private investments within the technological sector. He joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2001 and the Financial Services Investment group in 2017 to address the FinTech sector. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, Martin Latreille was a financial analyst for a securities firm, whose portfolio included such companies as Nortel, JDS, ATI and Exfo. A founding member of Look Communications, Mr. Latreille served as its Director, Network Technologies. He also spearheaded major IT projects at Teleglobe, Bell Canada and Hydro-Québec. Martin Latreille holds an Engineering degree with a telecommunications option from École Polytechnique de Montréal and an MBA with a Finance concentration from Université de Sherbrooke. He is a director on various boards.
    • Michel Messier

      Michel Messier joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1989. After five years as Valuation Advisor, he moved to the Investment sector in 2003 as Investment Advisor and in 2007 was appointed Portfolio Manager. Prior to his arrival at the Fonds, Mr Messier worked for leading Canadian corporations such as Bombardier Aerospace, Avon Canada and Maple Leaf Foods. He serves on the boards of various Québec companies active at home and abroad. Holder of a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a DESS in management accounting from Université du Québec à Montréal, Mr Messier is a member in good standing of the Ordre des CPA du Québec.
    • Jean Wilhelmy

      Jean Wilhelmy joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in July 2005 and has been Senior Vice-President, Aerospace, Infrastructures, Services and Transportation since September 2009. Holding a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from HEC Montréal, Jean Wilhelmy has over 35 years of experience, having started his career in 1976 in the finance industry. For close to 30 years, he has worked in the venture and development capital industry with various firms, including BDC, Investissement Desjardins, Énergie Capital, Hydro-Québec Capitech and SGF. As part of his duties in the investment industry, he served on the Boards of Directors of over 30 businesses. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Finance Montréal, Québec's financial cluster, and Montréal International. In addition, he is a member of the Monitoring Committee of Mecadev and the Investment Committee of three French funds specialized in aerospace, Aerofund I, II and III. He has also been a director of Avior Integrated Products and Abipa since 2015 and of Moulins de Soulanges since 2016. Furthermore, he has served on the Advisory Committee of La Milanaise since 2014 and of Concertium since 2016. In previous years, he acted as Chair of the Restructuring and Recovery Committee of Mécachrome International, a company listed on the TSX, and as Chair of the Advisory Committee of Signalisation Octa, a Québec-based SME. Mr. Wilhelmy was also self-employed for a few years, executing various interim management and consulting engagements for financial institutions and other types of businesses. He was also a finance lecturer at UQAM for seven years. Since 2005, he has been a professor at HEC Montréal, where he teaches a course on project financing. He has also been an Associate Professor at Executive Education HEC Montréal since 2016.

      Daniel Bourcier joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1997 as Development Agent in the Labour Relations, Partner Companies office. Prior to his arrival at the organization, he held various important positions in the labour world, including Enrolment Development Coordinator at CUPE and Training Coordinator for the labour network. With over 20 years of experience in his field, Mr. Bourcier has built solid expertise in labour relations and social responsibility. He has also mastered the intricacies of the International Code of Conduct.
    • Danielle Day

      Valuation Coordinator

      Danielle Day joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1999 as Valuation Coordinator. Ms. Day has extensive experience in evaluating financial instruments: stocks, debentures, preferred shares and hybrid instruments. She has conducted valuations in many different situations, for example, mergers and acquisitions, buyouts and restructurings. During her career, she also spent time working for a leading financial advisory firm. With over 20 years of experience in business valuation, Danielle Day earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from Université du Québec à Montréal and holds the designations of Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator.
    • Michel Dorion

      Senior Legal Advisor

      Michel Dorion joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 1992 as Legal Advisor. In his current role, he deals with the many legal facets of the Fonds' investment operations. From defining the legal structure of transactions to their negotiation and closing, Me Dorion is involved at each step of the investment process. Working with the Fonds' Shareholder Services and the Fondation de la formation économique, Me Dorion has honed his skills in development capital financing. He has delivered presentations and training to external directors and to employees and members of the Fonds network. He also helped set up a labour-sponsored fund in Algeria. As a result of his work, he has developed deep expertise in international matters. Prior to joining the Fonds, Me Dorion was Director of the Education and Information Services at the Conseil conjoint québécois de l'Union internationale des ouvriers et ouvrières du vêtement pour dames (UIOVD-FTQ). He also sat on the ad hoc working committee of the QFL on the Fonds' creation (QFL Education Service). Holder of a bachelor's and a master's degree in social and labour law from UQÀM, Michel Dorion went on to earn an MBA with a concentration in Business Financing from the same university. He has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1994.
    • Linda Lachance

      Linda Lachance joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2000 as Portfolio Manager, Quebec Public Markets. In this capacity, she is responsible for stock transactions and derivative strategies for the Marketable Securities portfolio as well as for providing advice on large-cap debt transactions. Ms. Lachance is particularly adept at analyzing special situations and Québec small caps. Prior to her recruitment by the organization, she worked for prominent brokerage firms. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Linda Lachance earned a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and International Management from HEC Montréal.
    • Sylvain Lemarbre

      Sylvain Lemarbre joined the Fonds de solidarité FTQ in 2001 as Senior Marketing Advisor in the Market Analysis and Development office. His duties include formulating recommendations for investment projects, advising the investment team and prospecting, tracking and furthering the growth of companies in the portfolio. Mr. Lemarbre has almost two decades of experience in financial services. Over the years he has held such positions as Product Manager, responsible for strategy, development and deployment of electronic solutions for the business market. He was involved in the Canadian Payments Association for over five years. Known for his leadership, Mr. Lemarbre was in charge of a 20-member team. Sylvain Lemarbre holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance as well as a Master of Science in International Management from HEC Montréal. During his career, he has worked for prestigious financial institutions and companies.
