Laurentides

For the past few years, the Laurentides has experienced the strongest demographic growth of all the regions. Its labour situation is also quite positive, with robust job creation and unemployment below the provincial average.

Forestry, agri-food processing and manufacturing have traditionally dominated this region’s economy and are still well entrenched; however, several high-tech industries, including electronics and aeronautics, can now also be found on the territory. Another driver of the economy is recreational tourism, more specifically lodging, gastronomy and sports activities.
